As a part of the Toyota US Woordfees, the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective (SCC) is hosting an enlightening Cabernet Barrel Tasting at Waterford Estate on the 11th and 12th March. The evening promises to offer wine enthusiasts the rare chance to taste a selection of top Cabernets straight from the barrel whilst engaging with the winemakers and owners of Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective member estates.
The beautiful Waterford Estate tasting room and courtyard will play host to this event, in its inaugural year, and guests will be spoilt with a selection of Stellenbosch Cabernets served from the barrel, alongside a current bottled vintage in which to compare. Guests will be encouraged to walk through the courtyard under the summer stars, whilst sipping on exceptional vintages of Stellenbosch Cabernet and mingling with the winemakers and owners of member wineries. Live music will complement the evening, and a selection of gourmet dishes will be on sale to pair with the wines.
Each of the 29 Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective member wineries have specially selected their best barrels to show at the event, and most of these wines will only be available in market in a few years’ time. This is the perfect opportunity to get an insider view of what the future vintages have in store for lovers of Stellenbosch Cabernet.
